College Connection and University Connection are programs where high school students can take classes at Butte College and CSU Chico during their senior years.

University Connection works in conjunction with local high schools and allows students who are interested in becoming teachers to take classes at CSU Chico during their senior year of high school. This program is offered to high school seniors in Glenn and Butte counties.

University Connection students start out as teacher's aides in local schools while also taking classes at the university. As they progress towards their BA or BS degree they also spend time student teaching so that at the end of four years they are ready to obtain their degree and their credential.

At Butte College, high school students can attend classes with a "Special Admit". Some school districts call this College Connection. This is not specifically coupled with any degree or credential program. Contact Butte College or your high school counselor for more information.

Several students who are attending University Connection at Chico State and College Connection at Butte College agreed to answer some questions about College Connection and University Connection. You can read their interviews here:

La Khang from Oroville High School.
