A Quote That You Like/Live By?

"Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."

Who I Am

I consider Chico my hometown although I was born in Napa, Idaho. Chico became my permanent home when I was less than a year old. After graduating from Chico High School I was a stay-at-home mom and raised my wonderful family. Almost fourteen years ago, I went back to work at Chico High School as a parent aide in various departments and finally ended up working full-time in the teacher's workroom, a position I enjoyed tremendously. In 1999 I was very fortunate to hear about a job opening for an Office Manager at CSU, Chico Upward Bound Projects. Over the past seven years I have held several positions in Upward Bound: Office Manager, Assistant Program Coordinator and currently, Administrative Analyst.

My Interests

I have six beautiful grandchildren that I adore and spend lots of time with. I especially enjoy trips to the Lake Almanor area and the beach. Reading is also a favorite pastime along with taking long walks.

Why Upward Bound is Important to Me

Working together toward a common goal forms bonds as strong as any family and that is what we are – family! UBers and staff alike have had a dramatically positive impact on my life. Every day, there is something new to be learned and I am truly blessed to be a part of this program!
